As
the sun has taken the strike and already getting settled, the big drama and
magic of IPL has started to grip the people, not only in India but across the
world. It’s just amazing how a sport unites a nation-when they are playing in
the world cup or divide the nation - when they are playing for their individual
franchises. But the spirit of cricket
remains the same. It’s great to see the loyalty of the Indian fans towards this
game.
It’s
not only the presence of the local talents which make this game interesting but
also the presence of big names like Chris Gayle - The destroyer, Sachin
Tendulkar - The master, MS Dhoni- The Man with golden Luck, that’s what makes
the IPL such a success, no wonder why this year again the IPL is such a big
talking point across the squares of the streets, cubicles of the offices,
corner of the college. It is everywhere.
As
always, along with the big fuzz, there are lots of controversies across the
different interests which have already taken a toll on this year’s IPL. Not
allowing Sri Lankan players to play in Chennai, politics over the misuse of the
water in the cricket stadium of the drought ridden state of Maharashtra are
just a few examples.
Whatever
is said and done, the cricket crazy nation has got another fifty odd days to
get into the groove and enjoy with the friends, family, and colleagues. I just
wish the tournament will be just a sporting event which will bring smile on the
faces of the people and hope there won’t be any politics played around which
will spoil the sports and also the young cricketers will consider this as an
opportunity to learn and improve rather than going behind the paisa and fame.
Enjoy
to the core...and tell your heart to say "jumping Zapak".
Cheers!
